In 2007, Andreas tested the new Panoz DP01 Champ Car, acted as a brand ambassador for Nippon Oil Corp., and official test and reserve driver for Dale Coyne Racing in the Champ Car World Series. With a strong racing reputation, Andreas was invited to explore options with several teams in various racing series for the coming years. However, in order to reach his long-term goals and secure a solid racing career for the future with a competitive team in a top series, Andreas realized that his efforts were best spent working behind the sceneson the business-side of racing for a short while.
At the end of 2006, Andreas was privileged to have the opportunity to compete in the Champ Car World Series, debuting in Surfers Paradise (Australia) – one of the most demanding venues on the race calendar. His sensational 9th place finish in his maiden run made a big splash in racing circles.
